Mee Pok


Fellow bloggers, I need help. I have all the right elements of a mee pok dish (pretty right?), but I'm not happy with the taste. All I used was sambal and fish sauce. Anyone know how to achieve the spicy/vinegary sauces you find at mee pok stalls?

I used some zhenjiang vinegar too but I could not get the hawker center taste. :(

I use vinegar, little ketchup, sesame oil and soy sauce.

I use black vinegar, sesame oil, soy, sriracha and ketchup to taste :)

black vinegar (i use zhenjiang, too), sesame oil, some chili sauce+ketchup. But I think there will always be a "missing" element...THE lard. :O ..tt's why hawker center mee pok is so tasty.
