Prima Taste Mix--Laksa

I've previously tried Prima Taste's Hokkien Mee and Chili Crab, but I wasn't impressed. Last week, my dear aunt from Singapore bought me the Laksa mix (amongst other goodies) and I decided to give it a try. It was delicious! I especially liked the inclusion of laksa leaves and sambal.

I added some cockles (haam), fishballs (!), bean sprouts, and prawns. I was a taste from home.

This looks like a bowl of laksa from a coffeeshop! Yummy! It's amazing isn't it? The Prima Taste Box even included laksa leaves.
I can get these premixes from Ranch 99 now. Just that they are like US$4.99 a box instead of S$4.99.

I really liked the coconut milk powder. I think it's lighter than canned coconut milk, thus the more authentic taste. I'll check out my neighborhood Ranch 99 for more mixes. Which ones have you tried?

Yes, the Prima Laksa is really good. To think something so authentic can be whipped up within a matter of minutes...without the trouble of grinding your own laksa spice paste. Cool :p

I even bought a Prima laksa party pack for a friend here in the US, and they could invite a group of many to a laksa party. It's just so convenient.

I have tried the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Mee Siam, Mee Rebus, Laksa, Satay and Hokkien Mee. I like the first three a lot. For Laksa, the gravy was nice. The satay, I made a mistake and had too much meat, so ran out of basting oil, Bought another one to try but haven't got down to making satay again yet. The only one I did not really like is the Hokkien Mee. Not sure if it is my noodles or the broth in the packet. Only the belachan in the Hokkien Mee Premix tasted nice.
